Kenang-kenangan Selangor
Selangor is a sovereign Malay state that symbolizes the heritage of Malay civilization and serves as an identity of Malay greatness from the past to the present. However, unlike several other Malay states such as Johor, Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu, and Pahang, the manuscripts related to the State of Selangor are very limited. This situation may be due to the presence of many manuscripts concerning Selangor that are scattered out there but have not yet been identified and fully explored. Therefore, to understand the history and culture of Selangor, particularly from local sources, researchers often rely on manuscripts from other states such as Johor, Pahang, Riau, and those related to them. This approach can be very helpful and beneficial. In addition to understanding the establishment of the Sultanate of Selangor, the relationships and connections between Selangor and other Malay states are also clearly presented. The ties between the states and the Malay Sultanate in the form of familial, diplomatic, and even conflictual relationships are described in the relevant manuscripts, highlighting Selangor's role clearly. Nevertheless, the effort to explore more manuscripts related to Selangor remains an important necessity in understanding the emergence of the sultanate, as well as the uniqueness of this state in particular.
